<u>During the presidency of Theodore Roosevelt, He was determined and committed to creating a ‘Square Deal' which was between business and labor and to do so, he pushed many pieces of progressive legislation through Congress</u>. During that period, Progressivism used to be the most powerful political force and President Roosevelt was known to be a very good spokesperson. There used to be two aspects of Progressivism. It was First used for the promotion of science, engineering as well as technological sectors and second being ways to decrease or eliminate waste and inefficiency in order to promote modernization. Just when President Roosevelt became president for the first time, he proposed federal regulations of trust. He advocated the creation of a cabinet department which was designed just to look and regulate the corporations engaged in unfair business practices as he was always a supporter of fair business. <u>Just after the presidential elections of 1902, President Roosevelt imposed a ban on the railroad rebates and along with that, he created a bureau which was to study and report on practices that were monopolistic. </u>
