1) Creating an advertisement for sportswear

Advertisements usually don't need to be written in a formal way, as for its purpose is to attract prospective buyers' interest to buy a good or service. These potential customer, especially of sportswear, are usually average people that may identify better with words that are common and relatable to them. This is why using colloquial words, slang, first-person pronouns and an every-day vocabulary in an advertisement for sportswear is more likely to attract people's interest and sell more than when informal English is used.

How does Naomi Shahib Nye (author of “mint snowball) feel about the story she’s telling? How do you know?
cluponka [151]

Answer:

In her story, Nye tells of her family heritage of a recipe for Mint Snowball which her great-grandfather was known for. In the story, she gets angry because that recipe was sold to someone else and she never tasted of her great-grandfather's mint snowball.

I know because of the comment she made while narrating the story. Below is an excerpt from the story:

Perhaps the clue to my entire personality connects to the lost Mint Snowball.

I have always felt out-of-step with my environment, disjointed in the modern

world. The crisp flush of cities makes me weep. Strip centers, poodle grooming, and take-out Thai. I am angry over lost department stores, wistful for something I have never tasted or seen.

Explanation:

"Mint Snowball" is a story by Naomi Shihab Nye. She is a poet, songwriter, and novelist.
