Ben needs to choose between three brands of shingles to use on roof. he knows he needs 89 bundles of shingles but each type of s

hingle weighs a different amount. he needs to take the information he has about the cost of the crane and the amount it can lift to determine the cost of using each brand.
The crane cost $350 plus an additional $150 for each hour or part of an hour the crane is used. The crane can make 4 lifts in one hour. Each lift must weigh 650 pounds or less. The weights of a bundle of each brand of shingle is A= 75, B=80 and C=85.

Decide which brand of shingles should be choose. Explain your reason.

Number of bundles in one lift. number of lifts needed. number of hours needed and total cost of the crane for each brand.

Probably brand A because it weights the least amount so then you can get more shingles in one lift since it needs to be at the most 650 pounds per lift.

Given that P = (-5, 11) and Q = (-6, 4), find the component form and magnitude of vector QP.
dybincka [34]

We'll use the Pythagorean Theorem (otherwise known as the Distance Formula):

Going from Q to P, x increases by 1 and y increases by 7. Thus, the component form of QP is <1,7>, and the magnitude of this vector is √(1^2+7^2) = 5√2.

Note: this is equivalent to <1, 7>, square root of 50.

Solve for x in the equation –2x + 4.4 = 23.8.
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer:

x = - 9.7

Step-by-step explanation:

Isolate the term in x by subtracting 4.4 from both sides of the equation

- 2x = 19.4 ( divide both sides by - 2 )

x = \frac{19.4}{-2} = - 9.7
