The tragic hero possesses a few fatal flaws that lead to his downfall.

The tragic hero is generally the main character of a tragedy. According to Aristotle, the tragic hero possesses different flaws, also called 'errors of judgement', which provoke a reversal of fortune and; therefore, his own downfall. Moreover, the audience generally feels pity for the tragic hero due to his change of fortune. Most times, the hero of a tragedy generally dies at the end of the story. Famous tragic heroes are Oedipus and Creon, characters from Oedipus Rex and Antigone respectively.

Serjik [45]
After Gregor has died and freed his family of his horrendous presence, they can now take a rest for a while and get back to their normal lives. Because of him, they had to rent a part of the apartment. His unwilling transformation had changed their lives for the worse. Now that he's gone, they have a hope for a better life. Near the end of "My Last Duchess," what do we learn about the duke's intentions?
Fed [463]

Near the end of "My Last Duchess," what we learn about the speaker's intentions is, he: plans to marry the count's daughter.

From the final part of the poem, we learn about the speaker's intentions to marry the count's daughter. This can be deduced from these lines:

"Is ample warrant that no just pretence

Of mine for dowry will be disallowed;

Though his fair daughter’s self, as I avowed."

He told the person with who he was having the conversation about his intentions to marry the Count's daughter.
