Suppose you would like to save P9000 invested at 8% compounded quarterly for 5 years and 6 months. (Note: Round off your answer
Sever21 [200]

Answer:

a) 13913

b) 4913.82

Step-by-step explanation:

The compound interest formula is given by:

A(t) = P(1 + \frac{r}{n})^{nt}

Where A(t) is the amount of money after t years, P is the principal(the initial sum of money), r is the interest rate(as a decimal value), n is the number of times that interest is compounded per year and t is the time in years for which the money is invested or borrowed.

In this question:

Investment of 9000, so P = 9000

Interest rate of 8%, so r = 0.08

Compounded quarterly, so n = 4

5 years and 6 months, that is, 5 years and half, so t = 5.5

(a) How much would the value of her savings at the end of the term?

A(t) = P(1 + \frac{r}{n})^{nt}

A(5.5) = 9000(1 + \frac{0.08}{4})^{4*5.5} = 13913.82

(b) How much is the interest earned by your savings?

The amount subtracted by the principal. So

13913.82 - 9000 = 4913.82

Noah and Lin are making paper cones to hold popcorn to hand out at parent math night. They want the cones to hold 9 cubic inches
DanielleElmas [232]

Answer:

So, The possible values of h and r are

1. r = 3 , h = 3

2. r = 1, h = 27

3. r = 2, h = 6.75

Step-by-step explanation:

P.S - The exact ques is -

As we know that Volume of cone , V = \frac{1}{3}\pi r^{2}h

As given,

V = 9\pi

⇒\frac{1}{3}\pi r^{2}h = 9\pi \\  \frac{1}{3} r^{2}h = 9 \\r^{2}h = 27

So,

The possible values of h and r are

1. r = 3 , h = 3

2. r = 1, h = 27

3. r = 2, h = 6.75

In Case I-

When r = 3, h = 3

(3)² ×3 = 9×3 = 27

Satisfied

Case II-

r = 1, h = 27

(1)²×27 = 1×27 = 27

Satisfied

Case III-

r = 2, h = 6.75

(2)²×6.75 = 4×6.75 = 27

Satisfied

dmitriy555 [2]

Answer:

  • B. 25 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>We have the following points:</u>

  • B- position of baby bird
  • M- position of momma bird
  • G- base of the tree

<u>Given:</u>

  • GM = 18 feet
  • BG = x
  • m∠BMG = 54°

<u>Find the value of x:</u>

  • x / GM = tan ∠BMG
  • x / 18 = tan 54°
  • x = 18 tan 54°
  • x = 24.77 ≈ 25 ft

Correct choice is B
