-Aerobic cellular respiration is divided into three phases, namely; glycolysis, citric acid cycle and the electron transport chain. Aerobic respiration produces 38 ATP molecules (2 ATP from glycolysis, 2 ATP from the Krebs cycle, and about 34 ATP from the electron transport system). Oxidative phosphorylation at the electron transport chain by a process called chemiosmosis process accounts for the most ATP.
