The isosceles triangle divided the base in half and created 2 congruent right triangles.
The base of isosceles triangle = 8, so the leg of each right triangle = 8/2 = 4
The leg of isosceles triangle = 17. It's the hypo. of right triangle
so
x^2 = 17^2 - 4^2
x^2 = 289 - 16
x^2 = 273
x = √273
x = 16.5

Answer
Height of the isosceles triangle = 16.5

Identify the 27th term of an arithmetic sequence where a1 = 38 and a17 = -74. . A. -20.5 . B. -151 . C. -22.75 . D. -144 . .
Dennis_Churaev [7]
In order to solve for a nth term in an arithmetic sequence, we use the formula written as:

an = a1 + (n-1)d

where an is the nth term, a1 is the first value in the sequence, n is the term position and d is the common difference.

First, we need to calculate for d from the given values above.
a1 = 38 and a17 = -74

an = a1 + (n-1)d
-74 = 38 + (17-1)d
d = -7

The 27th term is calculated as follows:

a27 = a1 + (n-1)d
a27= 38 + (27-1)(-7)
a27 = -144 -----------> OPTION D

Classify the relationship represented in each scatter plot as linear, quadratic or exponential.
vesna_86 [32]

Answer:

1. quadratic

2. quadratic

3. linear

4. quadratic

Step-by-step explanation:

In the picture attached, the scatter plots are shown.

The differences between these correlations are:

 • linear : makes a straight line
 • quadratic: makes a ∩ or ∪
 • exponential: rises or falls quickly in one direction

In plot 1, 2 and 4, we can see that y-values decrease at first and then they increase. This is a feature of quadratic correlation

In plot 3, we can see that y-values increase uniformly as x-values increase.This is a feature of linear correlation
