Which was a recommendation of the council of trent regarding music for the church?
tamaranim1 [39]
One of the main complaints at the Council of Trent was that the music used was too secular. They suggested that fewer instruments be used and that a certain attitude should be held by those singing or chanting in the chorus. They also added into the curriculum of those attending seminary the study of the literature, chants, and fine arts. This would hopefully bring about a better understanding of the use of music with in the service.

How did rivalry with britain affect the american decision to annex texas, the oregon dispute, and other controversies of the 184
kirza4 [7]
This rivalry inspired the United States to enter into the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. Under this treaty, Mexico gave up Texas, New Mexico, and California to the United States. This was thought to be controversial during the 1840's because a lot of Americans thought that Texas should not have been annexed, and Texas claimed that it still controlled New Mexico. There was a struggle for power.

Which of these would have been MOST likely to take the Oregon Trail?
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer: B) Americans trying to settle on the west coast.

The Oregon Trail was a 2,170-mile long wagon route and emigrant trail that connected the areas around the Missouri River to the valleys in Oregon. It spanned part of modern-day Kansas, most of Nebraska and Wyoming and most of Idaho and Oregon.

It was used heavily during the second half of the 19th century by settlers, ranchers, miners and farmers. The use of the trail declined with the construction of the first transcontinental railroad, completed in 1869.
