How did World War I contribute to a german economic crisis

WWI has been contributing to  the german economic crisis because it requested a lot lot a weapons, food and innovations. The soldiers needed some weapons and so the army had to give them. Thoose weapons are no free and so the army had to pay them. In addition, it was a destruction war : the states wich wre fighting need to improve it armament. They need to evolve, by inovating new way to kill and affraid the ennemy: For exemple, the tank has been innovated and so it request a lot of money to innovate it. At least, the German governement needed to feed it's army and so it cost a lot of money.
