The lab assistant who played a critical role in creating some of the first moving pictures is W.K.L (William Kennedy Laurie) Dickson. Dickson was a Scottish inventor who assisted Edison. Dickson, at the age of 19, first attempted to work for Edison but he was turned down. It was in 1883 when he finally got to work for Edison in his laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey. Thomas Edison, in the year 1888, presented a device that would do “for the Eye what the phonograph does for the Ear". Edison initially filed a preliminary claim on the device called caveat. It was in 1889 that the Kinetoscope, a motion device was also filed for the official claim. It was Dickson who was given the assignment of turning the concept into a reality.

What is Investment Banker?

Investment bankers advise businesses and, in certain situations, governments on financial matters. They assist their clients in fund raising. That could entail issuing stock, putting a bond on the market, negotiating the purchase of a competing business, or setting up the sale of the firm as a whole. Famously, investment bankers play a major part in the initial public offers (IPOs) of emerging companies getting ready to go public. That is merely one of their work assignments, though.

What is A Private Placement?

A private placement is when stock or bonds are sold to institutions and investors who have been hand-picked rather than on the open market. It is a substitute for an initial public offering (IPO) for a business looking to raise money for growth.

Wealthy individual investors, banks and other financial institutions, mutual funds, insurance companies, and pension funds are among the investors asked to take part in private placement programs.

A private placement is the sale of securities to a small group of organizations and people.

Comparatively speaking to the open market, private placements are less strictly regulated.

Startups today frequently use private sales in order to raise capital and delay or avoid an initial public offering (IPO).

A company is considering building a new factory, which department is most likely going to be in charge of evaluating options to
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

Explanation:

Sunk, or past, costs are monies already spent or money that is already contracted to be spent. A decision on whether or not a new endeavor is started will have no effect on this cash flow, so sunk costs cannot be relevant.

For example, money that has been spent on market research for a new product or planning a new factory is already spent and isn’t coming back to the company, irrespective of whether the product is approved for manufacture or the factory is built.

Committed costs are costs that would be incurred in the future but they cannot be avoided because the company has already committed to them through another decision which has been made.

Answer:

is more profitable since a firm can charge the new segments higher prices without changing the product.

Explanation:

When a single price has multiple segments and when product, it is an example of price discrimination

Price discrimination is when the same product is sold at different prices to customers in different markets

types of price discrimination

1. first degree price discrimination : here sellers charge each consumer at their willingness to pay in order to eliminate consumer surplus.

2. second degree price discrimination : here firms offer different prices depending on the quantity purchased. e.g. giving discounts for bulk purchases.

3, third degree price discrimination : firms charge different prices to different groups of customers. e.g. having a certain price for senior citizens, students

Price discrimination benefits firms because firms can earn more profit since they charge different prices for the same single product compared with multiple products
