The lab assistant who played a critical role in creating some of the first moving pictures is W.K.L (William Kennedy Laurie) Dickson. Dickson was a Scottish inventor who assisted Edison. Dickson, at the age of 19, first attempted to work for Edison but he was turned down. It was in 1883 when he finally got to work for Edison in his laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey. Thomas Edison, in the year 1888, presented a device that would do “for the Eye what the phonograph does for the Ear". Edison initially filed a preliminary claim on the device called caveat. It was in 1889 that the Kinetoscope, a motion device was also filed for the official claim. It was Dickson who was given the assignment of turning the concept into a reality.

Individuals benefit from health insurance because it's helps them pay off health debt when they may not have the funds at the moment to do so, especially in cases where the bills can be very expensive.

Health insurance would likely be a problem in the future due to the cost. Health bills can be very expensive, especially when it involves illness that require lots of operations or much bills to pay. This has made organizations begin to withdraw the benefits of health insurance for their staff.

Finger [1]

Answer:

Results are below.

Explanation:

First, we need to determine the production budget using the following formula:

Production= sales + desired ending inventory - beginning inventory

Quarter 1:

Production= 10,000 + (0.25*12,000) - 2,500

Production= 10,500

Quarter 2:

Production= 12,000 + (0.25*14,000) - 3,000

Production= 12,500

Quarter 3:

Production= 14,000 + (0.25*16,000) - 3,500

Production= 14,500

Quarter 4:

Production= 16,000 - 4,000

Production= 12,000

Now, the direct material purchase budget:

Purchases= production + desired ending inventory - beginning inventory

Quarter 1:

Purchase= 10,500*4 + (12,500*0.1) - 4,200

Purchase= 39,050 pounds

Quarter 2:

Purchase= 12,500*4 + (14,500*0.1) - 1,250

Purchase= 50,200 pounds

Quarter 3:

Purchase= 14,500*4 + (12,000*0.1) - 1,450

Purchase= 57,750 pounds

Quarter 4:

Purchase= 12,000*4 - 1,200

Purchase= 46,800 pounds

IgorC [24]

Answer:

Option (D) is correct.

Explanation:

Total Overhead Cost:

= (Overhead × Number of cases) for all products

= (20 × 350) + (25 × 550) + (17 × 650)

= 31,800

Total Machine Hours:

= Machine hours × Number of cases

= (5 × 350) + (3 × 550) + (4 × 650)

= 6,000

Overhead Rate:

= Total Overhead Cost ÷ Total Machine Hours

= 31,800 ÷ 6,000

= 5.30

Total product cost per case for Product GC:

= Direct Material + Direct Labor + Overhead

= 80 + 30 + (Machine hours × Overhead Rate)

= 80 + 30 + (3 × 5.3)

= 80.00 + 30.00 + 15.90

= $125.90

OHARA COMPANY
blondinia [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

From the given information, the ratio analysis for the year 2017 at OHARA Company can be computed as follows:

1. Working capital = Current (assets - liabilities)

Working capital = $458900 - $195500

Working capital = $263,400 (for 2017)

Given that the working capital for 2016 = $160,500

Thus, the % increase of 2017 over 2016 = 64.11% increase.

2. Current ratio = Current assets / Current liabilities

Current ratio = 458,900/195,500

Current ratio = 2.35 (for 2017)

Given that the Current ratio for 2016 = 1.65

Thus, the % increase of 2017 over 2016 = 42.43% increase

3. Free cash flows = Operating cash flows - Capital expenditure - dividends

Free cash flows = $190800 - $92000 - $31000

Free cash flows = $67,800

Given that the free cash flow for 2016 = $48,700

Thus, the % increase of 2017 over 2016 = 39.22%

4.

Debt to assets ratio = \dfrac{Total \ debt} { total \ assets}

Debt to assets ratio = 395,500/10,34,200

Debt to assets ratio = 38.24%

Given that the debt to assets ratio for 2016 = 31%

Thus, the % increase of 2017 over 2016 = 23.35%

5.

Earnings per share = \dfrac{earnings \ available \ to \ equity \ shares}{weighted \ a verage \ equity \ shares}

Earnings per share = \dfrac{153100}{50000}

Earnings per share = $3.06

Given that the earnings per share = $3.15

Thus, the % decrease of 2017 over 2016 = 2.86%
