Which of the following functions f has a removable discontinuity at a? If the discontinuity is removable, find a function g that

agrees with f for x ≠ a and is continuous at a. (If an answer does not exist, enter DNE.)
(a) f(x) = x4 − 1 x − 1 , a = 1 g(x) =
(b) f(x) = x3 − x2 − 56x x − 8 , a = 8 g(x) =
(c) f(x) = sin x , a = π (Recall that h(x) means the largest integer that is less than or equal to h(x).) g(x) =

If a 12 sided regular polygon rotates about its center at which angle of rotation will the image of the polygon coinside with th
Amanda [17]

Answer: 30 degrees

This is the minimum amount of rotation.

Why this value? Well because 360/12 = 30

Consider a triangle with 3 sides. Specifically I mean an equilateral triangle. We can rotate it 120 degrees to have it line up with itself. Now notice that 360/3 = 120.

For a square, we can rotate it 90 degrees and we can say 360/4 = 90

So the general rule is that the minimum angle of rotation is 360/n, where n is the number of sides. This rule only works for regular polygons. Regular polygons have the same side length and the same angle measure (the side and angle measure won't necessarily be equal).

So going back to this 12 sided dodecagon, we have n = 12 and 360/n = 360/12 = 30 as the minimum angle of rotation. Each 30 degree rotation will have the polygon match up perfectly with its old image. The preimage and image will be identical.

Triangles MOP and MNQ are similar. Find x.
konstantin123 [22]

Corresponding sides in the triangles MOP and MNQ are

MO and MN,

OP and NQ,

PM and QM.

Ratios of the corresponding sides for similar triangles should be the same.

MQ/MP =MN/MO

MQ/(MQ+QP) = MN/(MN+NO)

5/(5+x) = 6/(6+18/5)

5*(6+18/5)=6(5+x)

30+18 = 30 +6x

18=6x

x=3 =QP

A bag contains 10 black marbles and 6 red marbles. If a red
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

66.67% probability of selecting a black marble from the bag.

Step-by-step explanation:

Initially there are 16 marbles, 10 of which are black and 6 of which are red.

A red marble is drawn and not put back. So now there are 15 marbles, of which 10 are black.

So there is a 10/15 = 2/3 = 0.666% 7 = 66.67% probability of selecting a black marble from the bag.
