g100num [7]

Answer:

The activity of cyclic AMP phosphodiesterase is prevented by caffeine. The caffeine prevents further dissociation of cAMP, which eventually increases the response within the body. The activity of neurotransmitters, that is, of noradrenaline or epinephrine, gets increased due to enhancement in response.

This further enhances the activity of the heart, the rate of muscle contractions, blood pressure that further helps in delivering more oxygen to the brain, and other parts of the body. Thus, the inhibition of the enzyme cyclic AMP phosphodiesterase helps the athletes to prevent the wall.

A response that is uniquely directed against pathogenic bordetella pertussis would involve what component?
xxMikexx [17]

Answer:

Antibodies

Explanation:

Bordetella pertussis is an obligate human pathogen and is the etiological agent of whooping cough. It is known to be an opportunistic organism.

The pathogenic mechanism of Bordetella pertussis is also known as virulence factor. These virulence factors are known to include adhesins such as filamentous haemagglutinin, fimbriae and pertactin, which allow B. pertussis to bind to ciliated epithelial cells in the upper respiratory tract.

It is known to be the agent of whooping cough, a highly contagious respiratory disease, dramatic for infants and also for elderly and pregnant women.

In this case, the antibodies will be the response that is uniquely directed against the organism. It is said earlier that this organism is an opportunistic one, this means that it causes infection when the immunity is down. So, when the immunity is empowered , it will definitely fight against the organism

1. Which of the following statements are true?
hammer [34]

Your answers would be:

1. ---- B. A cell cannot be subdivided into smaller units that maintain the living state.

2. ---- The organism is a eukaryote because it has a nucleus.

3. ---- D. Water would flow into them because they are hypertonic to external environment.

If you want to know why:

1. The cell is the basic unit of life or in other words, its the smallest unit that makes up a living thing. It does not subdivided further if you are talking about sustaining life. Yes, it is made up of smaller units of organelles, but these organelles work together as a single unit (as a cell), to do life sustaining processes.

2. The organism is a eukaryote because of the presence of a nucleus. This is one of the main features of a eukaryote that differentiates it from a prokaryote. Prokaryotes to not have a true nucleus.

3. Water would flow into them, causing the cell to swell and eventually burst if the concentration of solutes would not even out before then. The process of osmosis is what brings the water into the cell. The cell would have a higher solute concentration than freshwater. Through osmosis, the water would then go to the area of higher concentration, which would be the cell.
