In a number line, 2-2=0 and then subtract 1 which gives you -1 as you answer.

2+(-3) = -1

2- 3 = -1

-1=-1

The question is why though ?

It is because you keep the negative exponent which is with the biggest number. So this is how its look like +2 -3, so 3 is bigger then 2 so for that reason you keep the negative sign.

I hope that's help:)

Which series of transformations results in the image being congruent to the pre-image?
erik [133]
For the element to be congruent only rotations, reflections or translations are allowed to be applied
1)
(x, y) → (x, –y)=reflection
(x, y) → (x + 5, y)=translation
(x, y) → (–x, y)=reflection
->is congruent
2)
(x, y) → (x + 1, y)=translation
(x, y) → (–x, –y)=reflection
(x, y) → (2x, y)=scaling->can't be congruent
3)
(x, y) → (0.5x, 0.5y)=scaling->can't be congruent
(x, y) → (x, –y)
(x, y) → (x, y + 8)
4)
(x, y) → (x – 4, y)=translation
(x, y) → (x, y + 3)=translation
(x, y) → (3x, 3y)=scaling->can't be congruent

so 1) is the only series of transformations with a congruent solution

Suppose a hurricane traveled 130 miles from point in the Atlantic Ocean to Florida coastline in 6 1/2 hours. How many miles per
Marizza181 [45]

Answer:

The hurricane traveled 260 miles per hour.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Distance covered by hurricane = 130 miles

Then time = \frac{6}{12} hours=0.5 hour

Distance=Speed*Time

Speed=\frac{Distance}{Time}
Speed=\frac{130}{0.5}

Speed=260 miles per hour

So, the hurricane traveled 260 miles per hour
