At the termination of the Cretaceous era, due to the colliding of an asteroid on the Earth, all the dinosaurs got wiped out from the Earth's surface, with the only remaining one of the species of dinosaurs were the small avian species.  

Due to the opening of lots of niches, the avian dinosaurs and the mammals briskly began to diversify, evolve, and become much bigger in size. The mammals won the race for supremacy and they became the most prevailing species on the Earth.

MODE OF ACTION OF AMOXICILLIN:

The amoxicillin binds with the pencillin binding proteins, present in the bacterial cell wall. The binding of the amoxicillin inhibits the enzyme transpepetidase, which is an important enzyme for the synthesis of the cell wall. it also inhibit murine hydrolases and inhibit the assembling of cell wall.

The amoxicillin effects the cell walls of the bacteria, as the animals cells do not have cell wall, they only have a cell membrane, the increase in the dose would not effect the animal cell.
