attashe74 [19]

The space race between the United States and the Soviet Union led to a science education emphasis renovation in the nation's schools.

American concerns about their place in the space race behind the Soviet Union led lawmakers and educators to apply greater emphasis on mathematics and physics in US schools. The National Defense Education Act of 1958 increased the funds to achieve these objectives from primary education to the graduate level. At present, more than 1200 institutes in the United States conserve their planetariums, a situation unparalleled in another country of the world and a direct consequence of the space race.

Write a paragraph describing how the us government managed the economy during world war I and the economic effects of the manage
frutty [35]
The US reorganized it's economy to produce food, arms, and other goods to support the war effort. The Food Administration helped boost food production to feed both American troops and Allied troops fighting in the war. The Food Administration also encouraged citizens to plant their own "Victory Gardens" to raise their own food. People went without wheat on Mondays, and without meat on Tuesdays, saving the food for the men fighting in the trenches. The US was short on military supplies, at the time they entered WW1. The War Industries Board told factories what to produce and at what price. The War Labor Board helped settle workers disputes in order to prevent strikes and labor unrest, which would slow down production of needed supplies.
