The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a set of infrastructure projects under construction in Pakistan.

Pakistan hopes that Chinese investments will help develop the transport system and improve the country's infrastructure in general. The CPEC, in theory, would facilitate the political and economic unification of the country, which has separatist provinces such as Baluchistan and Gilgit-Baltistan; and others that operate under tribal lifestyles and are poorly integrated with the economic and power centers. China, for its part, seeks to facilitate access to strategically important regions - such as the Middle East and Africa - via the Indian Ocean, faster and relatively safely from the traditional and troubled Malacca Strait. One of the issues regarding the Corridor project is that it runs through delicate regions, notably Gilgilt-Baltistan in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Consequently, one of the stages of CPEC clashes with the interests of neighboring country India, whose claim considers such territory an integral part of their country.

European nations formed opposing alliances to protect themselves from their enemies. And the alliances made them stronger, both militarily and economically.

Because of its constant disagreements regarding land distribution and an extreme sense of nationalism. Also a lot of wars took place there or because of that place such as WWI, WWII, and WWIII.

They took it very seriously. They invaded Serbia with thousands of troops. It was not just considered a murder but an attack on the empire itself.

Geography gave the central powers a disadvantage, as they were surrounded by their enemies. ... If civilians were unhappy, they might not work well or they might create domestic unrest that would unset war plans and demoralize soldiers.
