Signing up voluntarily was generally better than being drafted, because:

1) Sign on bonus: Volunteers who sign up are usually given a "sign-on bonus", or a amount of cash for joining the military

2) Choice: Usually when one is drafted, they would end up in the Army. If you want choice, you generally would sign up to the area you have interest in.

sleet_krkn [62]

The answer is - New Kingdom.

Ahmose is known and respected for multiple reasons, some of which are:

- Getting back the lost territories; Ahmose managed to defeat Hyksos and to return the lands of Nubia and Canaan that were once part of Egypt and that were of great economic and military importance.

- Reforming Egypt; He managed to reform the Empire in every aspect, economically, military, culturally, morally even... He lifted the empire from the ashes and managed to make it a great power and actually during his reign Egypt managed to reach its peak.

- Pyramid; The last built pyramid ordered by a native ruler in Egypt was from Ahmose.

Nation-states are very much like organisms. They are born, they grow, they need nourishment, and they eventually decline and die
emmainna [20.7K]

Answer: B) The Organic Theory

Details:

The Organic Theory of geography -- or maybe more accurately, of geopolitics -- was proposed by German geographer Friedrich Ratzel in 1897.  He suggested that nations function similarly to living organisms.  The controversial part of his theory was that the way a living organism takes in nourishment to grow and thrive, strong nations naturally will nourish and expand themselves, taking in weaker nations or cultures around them.  Ratzel coined the term "Lebensraum" (German for "living space"), which originally, in his view, meant the space for a strong nationalist culture to grow.  His writings came only a few decades after the German Empire had been reborn as the "Second Reich" (second kingdom), a renewal of the older "Holy Roman Empire" of German states as they were linked together in the medieval era.  Ratzel's ideas about "Lebensraum" later were picked up by Hitler and the Nazis as a justification for expanding German territory and taking over neighboring countries.  Germany's expansion under the Nazis as the "Third Reich" led to World War II in Europe.

To what extent has the United States demonstrated a consistent foreign policy in the Middle-East from the 1980s to the present?
vredina [299]

Answer:

The United States has mainly had two consistent policies in the Middle-East from the 1980s to the present:

  • Supporting Israel: Israel is America's main ally in the region, and both Democrats and Republicans support Israel. The U.S. provides military contributions to that country, which is often in conflict with its neighbors. These contributions are crucial for Israel continuos military victories.
  • Supporting Saudi Arabia instead of Iran: since the founding of the Islamic Iranian Republic, The United States has been a enemy of Iran and viceversa, and Iran is at the same time a geopolitical enemy of Israel and Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia and Iran are in fact, often at war in other countries (proxy wars), and the U.S. always supports the former.
