C. The Bill of Rights was ratified after the Constitution.
Louis XIV was an absolute ruler. He assumed complete control of all French affairs, limited power of nobles (but consulted them for advice before making decisions), and nobles had local power while Louis XIV controlled state power (basically bribed nobles to his will). He used divine right to secure his rule, too.
The Spiritual Exercises were written by the Spanish theologian St. Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556), the founder of the Society of Jesus, a Roman Catholic order of religious men. St. Ignatius wrote this set of prayers, meditations, and contemplative practices for the members of his order, the Jesuits, to be completed in stages in the course of four weeks, but the increasing interest in the spirituality of St. Ignatius has led many lay people to practice them as well. One of the most interesting practices in the Exercises, which are in part aimed at bringing people to a personal encounter with Jesus, is the so-called "composition of place," which encourages people to engage with all their senses in the subject of their meditation, to place themselves in the actual scene - be it the Last Supper or Jesus' resurrection, for instance.
The Spiritual Exercises were first published in 1548.
The correct answer is north.
This was a period of rapid industrialization which was common in the northern parts of United States of America. It's called gilded because like gilded things, it seemed as if things were going great but that was just a thin layer that was covering a plethora of various social and economic issues. The south didn't experience this very much because they were rather traditionally oriented in their business endeavors and manufacture so they experience the problems of the gilded age as much as the northern parts did.
