why did u.s settlers not come to the aid of the fighters under siege at the alamo despite william travis plea for help ?
zepelin [54]
On 24th February 1836 William Barret Travis, the commander of the Texican Rebels sent a desperate plea for his besieged soldiers at Alamo, an old Spanish fortress and mission. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in San Antonio with command of the Texas Regular Troops.
He sought military reinforcement by dispatching several messages seeking assistance, i.e, "The people of Texas and all Americans in the world" was the most famous address to the people of Texas, and further signed "Victory or Death". Only 35 people went to assist and on 6th March the Mexicans stormed the Alamo where Travis and 190 other soldiers were killed.
Travis defense of the Alamo became symbolic and significant behind the rallying for the Texas revolution whereby April the Texas people and countrymen of Travis fought the Mexicans and gained their independence.

Brainstorm a list of the reasons the colonists rebelled against England and another list of the reasons the
sattari [20]

Answer:

Reasons for Colonists against England:

1. High Tariff Taxes.

2. Disputed Claims on the Continent.

3. Social Engineering Gone Wrong.

4. Religious Tensions and Resentment of Canada.

Reasons for South against Union:

1. Centralization v.s. States Rights.

2. Slavery.

3. Cultural Differences.

4. Religion.

Explanation:

There are many alikes and differences between the two revolutions. The most common cause was "tension" between the two sides that fought for contrasting yet similar reasons. Colonists were trying to escape the rules from England, such as the South trying to pry itself from the North's laws. All the goals that the colonists were trying to acheive were for all their representation, not discluding any peers. The South however were using their objectives to intentionally continue the crimes and free labor against african americans, not for their own freedom.
