This began the 13 days of uncertainty, AKA The Cuban Missile Crisis. The Cubans had the means to start a nuclear war on the U.S if they so pleased, Kennedy responded to this by also threatening to nuke Cuba, should they fire the nukes. This all came to an end when Khrushchev agreed to take the nukes out of Cuba, and Kennedy agreed not to invade Cuba (he also promised to take U.S nukes out of Turkey, as Cuba considered it a threat, but this was not told to the public in order to make Kennedy look better)

Answer: A. The U.S. had the full support of the United Nations

Explanation:

And not only did they support the United Nations Security Council, but many UN members took part in actions led by the United States. After Iraq occupied Kuwait, all attempts at diplomatic negotiations failed. The United Nations has, on several occasions, tried to resolve the crisis peacefully, but Iraq has not backed down. Therefore, a war offensive was launched to expel Iraqi troops from Kuwait and the bombing of Iraqi military and civilian capacities. In just a few days, a US-led coalition managed to defeat Iraqi forces. This episode in history is known as the Gulf War.

For instance, the case of the founders of the Jamestown, Virginia colony of 1607. They were sponsored by the English corporation, the London-Virginia Company to make the trip to the Americas, work the land and exploit the raw material and make a profit. But they were still part of a larger Atlantic community.

Or the case of the Puritans that arrived at the coast of North America in 1620 to found the Plymouth colony. They were strict religious men and women that left Britain due to the religious persecution of the Church of England. They opted to make the trip to establish a new place to practice their religious teachings freely.
