Solving the equation, we get  x+5 y=6   as equation 1

we get, 3x + 10y = 21 as equation 2

Solving both equation,

Multiplying equation 1 by 3  

$3 x+15 y=18$

$3 x+10 y=21$

and subtracting both the equations

We get $5y = 7; y = 7/5$

Substituting the value of y in equation 1, we get  $x + 5(7/5) = 6$

  $x+7=6$

  $x = 6-7 = -1$
