B.  Rhode Island founded to keep separtionof church and state.

C. Lord Baltimore created the Maryland colony.

D. New York was colonized by the Dutch and was originally calledNew Amsterdam.

E. Georgia was settled as a debtor colony and to keep Spain from advancing up the coast.

F. Jamestown was the first English colony in North America.

G. Massachussetts was settled for its rich fish industry.

H. Delaware was originally part of Pennsylvania but broke away due to regional differences.

I. Catholics settled in Maryland for religious freedom.

J. Carolina was given as a gift by King Charles II.

K. Virgina was  named after  the vigin queen, Elizabeth I.

L. Plymouth was settled by Puritan dissenters in 1620.

M. Roger Williams was kicked out of Plymouth for wanting separtion of government and religion.

N. Pennsylvania was the colony of William Penn, for Quakers.
