Answer:

the genotype for the man is Bb and that of the woman is Bb

Explanation:

Blue eye colour (b) in human is recessive to brown eye colour (B), thus blue eyes(b) will express itself in homozygous condition only (bb). The dominant "B" allele can express itself in both homozygous(BB) and heterozygous conditions(Bb). Since the man is browned eyed and the woman is browned eyed and they have a child which is blue eyed.

For the child to be blue eyed (that is bb), the genotypes of the parent which are both brown eyes must be Bb. That is the genotype for the man is Bb and that of the woman is Bb

Answer:

In the case of these two parents, a quarter of their children would have blue eyes.

Explanation:

It is not only possible, it is expected that this would happen an appreciable fraction of the time.  Brown eyes are dominant.  Suppose eye color were dependent on a single Mendelian gene with two alleles, Br for Brown eyes and Bl for Blue eyes.  (As Tracey Bryan has explained, this is not true -- I want to explain what the answer would be even in the simple case.)  This means the three possible combinations of two alleles give the following eye colors:

BrBr => Brown

BrBl => Brown

BlBl => Blue

Now suppose two brown-eyed people have a child.  We can't tell from the fact that they have brown eyes which pairs of alleles they have.  Each of them could have either BrBr or BrBl.  Suppose they each have BrBl.  When they are crossed (i.e., they have a child), the child gets one allele from its mother -- it has a 50-50 chance of getting either one -- and one allele from its father -- again it has a 50-50 chance of getting either one.  So, the child has:

25% chance of getting Br from mother and Br from father => brown eyes;

25% chance of getting Br from mother and Bl from father => brown eyes;

25% chance of getting Bl from mother and Br from father => brown eyes;

25% chance of getting Bl from mother and Bl from father => blue eyes.

So in the case of these two parents, a quarter of their children would have blue eyes.

Parasites need a host. If a host tries to get rid of the parasite or kill it, then the parasite either has to leave the body or die.

Many nutrients are absorbed in the blood stream from the small intestine. the first organ that gets this nutrient blood is
MArishka [77]
The first organ that receives nutrients from the small intestine is the liver. To better understand this, check out the process flow of the digestive system up to how the liver becomes the first organ to benefit from the nutrient absorption by the small intestines. 1. Esophagus - After chewing, the food is pushed down the esophagus and then out of the esophageal sphincter, which is a ring-like muscle at the junction of the esophagus and stomach that controls the passage of food and liquid between the esophagus and stomach.2. Stomach - Swallowed food and liquid are stored in the stomach. The stomach then mixes the food and liquid with digestive juices that it produces. The mixed food and gastric juices will then be called chyme. The chyme is then slowly emptied into the small intestine. 3. Small intestine - The muscles of the small intestine mix food with digestive juices from the pancreas, liver, and intestine and push the mixture forward to help with further digestion. The small intestine has multiple parts: the duodenum, the jejunum and the ileum. The ileum mix and push food towards the large intestines. Located within the ileum are villi that increase the surface area for absorption. The nutrients absorbed here are transferred to the blood stream and liver.

Match the descriptions to the processes.
UNO [17]

Answer:

A) Ice cream starts dripping down the sides of an ice cream cone: melting

B) Fog is created by using dry ice:  sublimation

C) Frost forms on trees on a very cold day: deposition

D) The mirror gets fogged up when you breathe on it: condensation

E) Your wet hair dries after a few minutes: evaporation

F) Liquid glass cools and hardens : freezing

Explanation:

Sublimation process where solid state changes to gaseous state by escaping liquid state.

Deposition process where gaseous state changes to solid state by escaping liquid state.

Condensation process where gaseous state changes to liquid state.

Melting is the process where solid state changes to liquid state.

Evaporation process is a process where liquid state changes to gaseous state.

Freezing is the process in which liquid changes to solid state.
