It was mainly due to the Barbarian invasion of  Western Europe. The   western zone of the Roman Empire collapsed. A new system began to devlop: the Feudal System. The eastern part of the Empire lasted until 1453.

In other words, they stayed in one spot so they could domesticate plants and animals. So I would say that the correct answer is 4, even though I would say the correct answer is they transitioned to staying in one spot and farming, though that is not an option.
