Refer to the histogram shown below.

Total frequency = 44 + 1515 + 1818 + 66 + 11 = 3454.

Calculate relative frequencies, to the nearest thousandth.
Class a:
44/3454 = 0.0127
Answer:  0.013

Class b:
1515/3454 = 0.4386
Answer: 0.439

Class c:
1818/3454 = 0.5263
Answer: 0.526

Class d:
66/3454 = 0.0191
Answer: 0.019

Class f:
11/3454 = 0.0032
Answer: 0.003

If you copy a page on a machine at 72%, you should get a similar copy of the page. What is the corresponding setting to obtain t
allsm [11]

Answer:

138\frac{8}{9}\%

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

To find out the corresponding setting to obtain the original from the copy, divide 100% by 72%

so

\frac{100}{72}

Simplify

\frac{100}{72}=\frac{25}{18}

Convert to percentage

\frac{25}{18}(100)=\frac{2,500}{18}\%

Simplify

\frac{2,500}{18}\%=\frac{1,250}{9}\%

Convert to mixed number

\frac{1,250}{9}\%=\frac{1,242}{9}+\frac{8}{9}=138\frac{8}{9}\%

Ari has a total of 22 coins consisting of pennies and nickels. The total value of the coins is $0.54.
anastassius [24]
Let n = the number of nickels that Ari has.
Let p = the number of pennies that Ari has.

The total number of coins she has is 22.

n + p = 22

We have our first equation... But we another one to solve this.

Each penny is going to be $0.01 and a nickel is work $0.05.

And the total is $0.54

Our second equation. 0.05n + 0.01p = 0.54

n + p = 22
0.05n + 0.01p = 0.54

Multiply the top by -0.05

-0.05n - 0.05p = -1.1
0.05n + 0.01p = 0.54

The n terms cancel out.

-0.04p = -0.56

p = 14

Substitute p back into the top equation.

n + 14 = 22

n = 8

So, Ari has 8 nickels and 14 pennies.

I was wondering if anyone could explain how to solve this?
vfiekz [6]
(a+b)² can also be written as (a+b) (a+b). When you expand this you get a²+2ab+b²

(a-b)² can also be written as (a-b) (a-b). When expanded this gives a²-2ab-b2

As you can see, this leads to different coefficients of the 'ab' values: for (a+B) ² its 2 for (a-b) ² its - 2

There are 5280 feet in a mile and 12 inches in a foot. Explain how you can tell quickly if there are more or fewer than 50,000 i
siniylev [52]
Ten times 5280 is clearly more than fifty thousand. Since there are more than ten inches in one foot, we have even more than ten times 5289 inches in a mile, so there are many more than 50000 inches in one mile.
