Answer: "Sometimes at dusk we would see him come out from the hidden interior of his island. For years we had no idea who he was or what he did until"
Suddenly at dusk we heard a cry for help. The man who knew we were watching him and wanted nothing to do with us was crying for help.
For a moment we stood still thinking to ourselves who's voice is that? Then suddenly we realized could that be the mysterious man?? We then looked at each other and rushed towards the island raring to see what had happened. As we got closer to the island the screaming got louder and louder. Then finally it stopped as we saw a fragile old man who had fallen.
We then helped him back to his hidden interior and nursed him back to health. We soon after became great friends with him as that very night we saved his life.

Answer:
A simile to suggest that the poem is valuable.
Explanation:
A simile is a figurative language that uses comparisons to describe an event, someone, a thing, an animal, a place.. while using the words "as" and "like". The purpose of similes is to make the writing more colorful, interesting, significant and memorable. The excerpt uses this type of figurative language with that same purpose when it compares the way "the corner of your drawer" was tucked away: "like a cabin or hogan in dense trees."
