So first, just simply solve both and then it become obvious. The expression 3-(2+5), you can evaluate what's inside the parentheses first and then your answer will be in the form of a integer: 3-(2+5) = 3-7 = -4 With the second one, your answer will be in the form of a simplified expression because we don't know what x is: 3x-(2x+5) = 3x-2x-5 = x - 5 Also, in the second one, you have to expand the parentheses in order to simplify it.

Can someone please help me? Will give the brainlest!!
SCORPION-xisa [38]

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of the perimeters = the scale

P₂ / P₁ = 6 / 4 = 3 / 2

The ratio of the areas = the square of the scale

A₂ / A₁ = (6 / 4)² = (3 / 2)² = 9 / 4

Same for the triangles:

P₂ / P₁ = 6 / 3 = 2

A₂ / A₁ = (6 / 3)² = (2)² = 4

10. If log10x = 1 + a and log10y = 1 – a, show that xy = 100.<br> How?
gregori [183]

Step-by-step explanation:

log x = 1 + a

a = log x - 1

log y = 1 - a

a = 1 - log y

So

log x - 1 = 1 - log y

log x + log y = 2

log (xy) = 2

xy = 100
