This means that the groups may be at the same satus level and this organization is used to see what is common is all of them and what is different among them.  Unlikely, stratification is an organization of social groups which  is vertically ordered. This means that the most powerful or the group which has the highest social status is placed above from  the ones whose social status is lower.
