Vertex form is
y=a(x-h)²+k
vertex is (h,k)
to solve
input the given vertex and then the given point, solve for a

vertex at (-2,2) and a point is (-4,-10)

y=a(x-(-2))²+2
y=a(x+2)²+2
put point (-4,-10)
-10=a(-4+2)²+2
-10=a(-2)²+2
-10=4a+2
-12=4a
-3=a

y=-3(x+2)²+2

Which of the relationships below is a function?
lorasvet [3.4K]
First: a function is an input connected to one and only one output.

I would say that C, (<span>4,3), (3,0), (-1,3), (2,7), would be correct. You see, no inputs are repeating, unlike A, B, and D, which repeat</span>

Which statement identifies and explains Limit of f (x) as x approaches 0?
ira [324]

Third option, counting from the top.

Remember that we say that a limit exists, like:

\lim_{x \to 0} f(x) = a

if and only if:

\lim_{x \to 0_-} f(x) = a

and

\lim_{x \to 0_+} f(x) = a

Where the above two limits say that when we approach zero from the negative side (the first one) and from the positive side (the second one), we must get the same value.

Also, remember that the limit is an approximation through near points

Then, regardless the fact that f(0) = -2, we can see that as x approaches 0 from both sides, the value of the function approaches 4.

Thus, we can conclude that the limit of f(x) when x tends to zero is equal to 4.

The correct option is the third one.
