A dog was out walking one day carrying along his favorite bone in his mouth. He was trotting happily along when he came to a bri

dge. As he crossed the bridge, he looked over the side at the river that flowed below. When he looked closer, he saw a second dog looking up at him. He noticed that the second dog had a much bigger bone than he did!
The first dog became anxious. He decided that he wanted the bigger bone for himself. He crouched closely to the water and placed his mouth near the edge of the river. He was getting himself ready to snatch the bigger bone from the second dog's mouth. The first dog opened his mouth to bark, which caused his bone to fall with a splash as it fell into the river.

The first dog sat there puzzled. The big bone had disappeared. Both he and the second dog looked upon each other sadly.

I think the answer is B because the first dog does not realize his own reflection. The dog thought it was another dog trying to get his bone but in reality it was himself.

1. Should rescue crews provide a tentative response to encroaching forest fires? Why or why not?
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer: No, they should not.

Explanation: Forest fires can make people afraid and uncomfortable. They need to be assured that they would be safe and to remain calm. A tentative answer from rescue teams would leave them panicked and uneasy. The rescue team should make the people calm.

Which kind of complement are the underlined words?
Brilliant_brown [7]
I believe the correct answer is C) predicate nominative, because that follows a linking verb (in this case, ISN'T), and is the first noun after that following verb, which is 'Stallion'.

What does bob look like ? And what does he do ? And what do people think of him ? Plz help this is due in 5 mins and the story i
tigry1 [53]

Answer:

Bob Sheldon is the Soc who originally beat up Johnny. He is Cherry's boyfriend, and, like Johnny, he is a victim of his own family. Unlike Johnny, his parents do not physically or verbally abuse him; however, they do something equally as harmful: They allow Bob to shirk responsibility for his own actions.

Bob is the rich kid who has never had to work for anything. His parents have given in to him his whole life, and have never set any boundaries for him. "His parents let him run wild" is the way his best friend, Randy, describes him. Pony wonders, "because they loved him too much or too little?" Johnny kills Bob when the Socs attack Johnny and Ponyboy in a park.

Hope this helps <3 (plus i love this book!!)

Taking these into consideration, here is an example summary from the passage taken from History and Geography 7, Unit 6.

Archaeologists discovered that people came to the North American continent long ago possibly by crossing fifty-six miles between Asia and Alaska. While the date and details of their trip remain unknown, as nomads, they migrated during the spring and summer in search of food for their herds and camped during the winter. Eventually, they settled from the east coast to the tip of South America. Artifacts found from this era were used for hunting animals to get food and clothing.
