This excerpt comes from the play “<em><u>A Doll’s House</u></em>” written by  <u>Henrik Ibsen</u>.  Nora is married to Torvald Helmer and kept it a secret that years ago, she illegally borrowed money from Krogstad, who then blackmails Nora for a position in her husband’s bank. When her husband learns the truth Nora sees that he only wanted to keep her as a trophy wife.
