Given parameters;

  Let us solve this problem step by step;

Let us represent Simon's money by S

Kande's money by K

  • Simon has more money than Kande

               S > K

  •  if Simon gave Kande K20, they would have the same amount;

 if Simon gives $20, his money will be  S - 20 lesser;

      When Kande receives $20, his money will increase to K + 20

                     S - 20  = K + 20   ------ (i)

  • While if Kande gave Simon $22, Simon would then have twice as much as Kande;

          if Kande gave Simon $22, his money will be K - 22

    Simon's money, S + 22;

                  S + 22  = 2(K - 22)    ------ (ii)

Now we have set up two equations, let us solve;

         S - 20  = K + 20  ---- i

         S + 22  = 2(K - 22)  ;       S + 22  = 2K - 44  ---- ii

So,      S - 20  = K + 20

          S + 22  = 2K - 44

subtract both equations;

               -20 - 22  = (k -2k)  + 64

                   -42  = -k + 64

                       k  = 106

Using equation i, let us find S;

            S - 20 = K + 20

             S - 20  = 106 + 20

              S = 106 + 20 + 20  = 146

Therefore, Kande has $106 and Simon has $146

A circle with area \blue{25\pi}25πstart color #6495ed, 25, pi, end color #6495ed has a sector with a central angle of \purple{\d
vredina [299]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that

The area of circle is 25π square unit

Area = 25π square unit

The area of a circle can be calculated using

Area = πr²

Where r is radius of the circle

Then, let find the radius of the circle

Area = πr²

25π = πr²

Divided Both side by π

25π / π = πr² / π

25 = r²

Take square root of both sides

√25 = √r²

5 = r

Then, the radius of the circle is 5 unit

Then, given that the angle subtended by the sector is 9π/10 rad

θ = 9π/10 rad

Then, we want to find the area of the sector

Area of a sector is calculated using

Area of sector = (θ / 360) × πr²

Area of sector = θ × πr² / 360

The formula is in degree let convert to radian

360° = 2π rad.

Then,

Area of sector = θ × πr² / 2π rad

Then,

Area of sector = θ × r² / 2

Area of sector = ½ θ•r²

Then, Area of the sector is

A = ½ θ•r²

A = ½ × (9π / 10) × 5²

A = (9π × 5²) / (2 × 10)

A = 225π / 20

A = 45π / 4

A = 11.25π Square unit

A = 35.34 square unit

The length of an arc of a circle is 7.34 units, and the measure of the corresponding central angle is 81 degrees. What is the ap
GuDViN [60]

Answer:

A.  5.19 units

Step-by-step explanation:

\textsf{Arc length}=2 \pi r\left(\dfrac{\theta}{360^{\circ}}\right) \quad \textsf{(where r is the radius and}\:\theta\:{\textsf{is the angle)}

Given:

  • \theta = 81°
  • Arc length = 7.34 units

Substituting given values into the equation and solving for r:

\implies 7.34=2 \pi r\left(\dfrac{81^{\circ}}{360^{\circ}}\right)

\implies 7.34=r\left(\dfrac{18 \pi}{40}\right)

\implies 7.34 \cdot 40=18 \pi r

\implies 293.6=18 \pi r

\implies r=\dfrac{293.6}{18 \pi}

\implies r=5.19 \sf \: units \:(2\:dp)
