abruzzese [7]
Multiply first and last coefficients:
2*(-9) = -18

Find 2 factors which multiply to -18 and add up to 17:
18 and -1

Rewrite quadratic with 17y split up as' 18y - y', Then factor by grouping:

2y^2 - y + 18y -9 \\  \\ y(2y-1) + 9(2y-1) \\  \\ (2y-1)(y+9)

Charge q is one unit of distance away from the source charge s. Charge p is two times further away. The force exerted between S
finlep [7]

Charge q is 1 unit of distance away from the source charge S. Charge p is two times further away. The force exerted between S and q is _____ the force exerted between S and p

a. 1/2

b. 2 times

c. 1/4

d. 4 times

Answer:

4 times

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following :

Distance between q and S (r) = 1 unit

Distance between P and S (r) = 2 × 1 unit = 2

According to coliumbs law:

F = Ke(q1q2) /r^2

Where F = electrostatic force, Ke = coloumbs constant

q1,q2 = charges, r = distance between two charges

For q and S :

Fsq = Ke(q1q2) / 1^2

Fsq = Ke(q1q2) - - - - - equation 1

For P and S :

Fsp = Ke(q1q2) / 2^2

Fsp = Ke(q1q2) / 4 - - - - - equation 2

Dibiding equation 1 by equation 2

Fsq/Fsp = Ke(q1q2) / Ke(q1q2)/4

Fsq / Fsp = Ke(q1q2) × 4 / Ke(q1q2)

Fsq / Fsp = 4 / 1

Using cross multiplication

Therefore, Fsq = 4 × Fsp

0.6(10n + 25) = 10 + 5n
drek231 [11]

Answer: n=-5

Step-by-step explanation:

distribute: 0.6(10n+25)=10+5n   0.6(10n)= 6n   0.6(25)=15   so then you put the problem together again... 6n+15=10+5n then you cancel out the n variable... 10-15=-5   6n=-5+5n   6n-5n=1n   1n=-5   -5/1   n=-5

Describe and correct the error in finding the solution.
yaroslaw [1]
The error is in step 2. if you are performing an operation on one side of the equation, it must be performed on the entire expression. you can’t only divide by 2 on one term, you must do it to everything in the equation. instead, you could add 6 to both sides first, giving you 2x = -4. Then you can divide by 2 on both sides. the answer is -2.
