What type of cognitive bias is being described here?
katovenus [111]

Answer:

The correct answer is: A. Confirmation Bias

Explanation:

Confirmation Bias refers to a cognitive distortion where we seek out information or evidence that confirms our beliefs and viewpoints. Additionally, confirmation bias involves ignoring or disregarding anything that contradicts or differs from our beliefs. In this instance, since Maria is convinced a gluten free diet is better for her, she adopts the confirmation bias because she seeks out books and research that confirm the belief that gluten-free diets are beneficial. She also joins a gluten-free community online that "confirms" the same belief.
