D!!!!! The legislative branch of government in Athens had two bodies in it: the Council of 500 and the Assembly of 6,000. Sparta really didn't have a legislature, but rather the Gerousia, or council of elders, made up of men over the age of sixty. Athens and Sparta were very different cities.Athens developed a system that valued philosophy and active political involvement by its citizens in an early form of democracy.

(Note that it wasn't full democracy as we'd think of it today, as those who had a political voice were free men, not women or slaves.)Sparta developed a militaristic system that valued physical training and military service, as well as strict loyalty to the state. so its technically D hope this helps

The correct answer would be, Take Over.

Imagine you are the owner of a business that makes cell phone covers. You have the opportunity to purchase other companies that make the same product as you. Eventually, you own all the major cell phone cover companies in the US. Take over principle is explained by the above scenario.

Explanation:

When one company, purchases another company, it is called as take over. Take overs happen when a comparatively larger company purchases the smaller company.

Take overs can happen in a friendly and welcoming environment, and also can happen in a hostile or unwelcoming condition or situation.

So when you purchase the other companies which are in the same business as you, because of any reason, this is called as take over.

An effect of the new territory acquired by the US after the Mexican-American War was that states disagreed about
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:  States disagreed about whether slavery should be allowed in the new territories.

Explanation:

The Mexican Cession was the large region of land that Mexico ceded to the United States in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848.  It included territory that would later become the states of California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of what would become Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming.  The Mexican Cession reignited tension on the issue of slave-holding states vs. free states.

The Missouri Compromise (1820) had admitted Missouri into the Union as a slave state with Maine being added at the same time to keep the balance of slave and free states equal.  It also prohibited any future slave states north of the latitude line 36 1/2 degrees north of the equator in territories of the Louisiana Purchase, with the exception of Missouri (north of that line) being admitted as a slave state.  Since that latitude line ran right through the middle of the Mexican Cession territory, there was bound to be further debate over the issue of slave vs. free states.

Murrr4er [49]
Between 1640-1660, Great Britain enjoyed the greatest benefits of mercantilism. During this period, the prevailing economic wisdom suggested that the empire's colonies could supply raw materials and resources to the mother country and subsequently be used as export markets for the finished products.
