It was famously known for causing the fires of Pompeii and killing millions of people.
Mt. Vesuvius, a cone-shaped mountain is part of the Campainian Volcanic Arc. It has erupted 30 times as recorded by scientists. It is currently considered as one of the top ten most dangerous volcanoes of the world.
