One of the following is NON-polar molecule
nlexa [21]

Answer:

a. fatty acids is the correct answer.

Explanation:

fatty acids is NON-polar molecule.

Nonpolar molecules are that molecules which are not soluble in water and fatty acids are not soluble in water.

fatty acids are hydrophobic and the hydrocarbon chain present in fatty acids are nonpolar, thus that's the reason fatty acid is nonpolar.

examples of fatty acids

  • fats
  • cholesterols
  • oils
  • steroids

A pharmacology student asks the instructor what an accurate description of a drug agonist is. What is the instructor's best resp
Varvara68 [4.7K]

A drug that interacts directly with receptor sites to cause the same activity that a natural chemical would cause at that site is the instructors best response.

Explanation:

Receptors are Macromolecules which involved in chemical signalling within cells. It is possible that receptors are located in the cell surface membrane. Cellular biochemical process is regulated by Activated receptor. The drugs are capable to affect to receptor who is related to the drug’s affinity and also intrinsic efficacy.

The affinity and activity of drug is related to its chemical structure. its effect is decided by the time duration where complex persistence of drug-receptor.

How does the structure of a brain cell related to its function?
lesya [120]

Solution:

Structure dictates function. Ribosomes provide another good example of structure determining function. These small cellular components are made of protein and ribosomal RNA (RNA).Their main function is to translate messenger RNA, or mRNA, into strings of amino acids called proteins.

The structure and shape of each type of human cell depends on what function it will perform in the body. For example, red blood cells (RBCs) are very small, flat discs, which allows them to easily fit through narrow capillaries and around sharp corners in the circulatory system to deliver oxygen throughout the body.

Neurons carry messages from the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body, using electrical signals down their lengths and chemical signals between neurons. Since electrical signals travel much faster than chemical signals, neurons are long and thin to minimize the number of slower chemical signals that would be required between links in a chain of many shorter neurons.

The elongated shape of muscle cells allows the contraction proteins to line up in an overlapping pattern that makes muscle flexing possible.

And human sperm cells’ structures allow them to “swim” long distances to reach an egg for fertilization. They do this by using flagella, their long whip-like tails, and also by being very small, carrying little more than the DNA for a potential zygote.

This is the required answer.

Which of the following can affect the activity of an enzyme?
Gennadij [26K]
The correct option is 3.
Enzymes are biological catalysts which speed up the rate of biochemical reactions inside the cells. Enzymes are very specific in action and they require specific conditions called optimum conditions for them to function optimally.
When the optimum conditions are not met, an enzyme's activity will be lowered or totally stopped.
Conditions that affect the optimum activity of an enzyme include: temperature, pH level and regulatory activity of regulatory enzymes and hormones.

What is the purpose of fit check technique for masks? essay question
anygoal [31]

Tight-fitting respirators must seal to the wearer’s face in order to provide expected protection. This includes disposable respirators (also called “filtering facepieces”). Therefore, fit testing is required in the US by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) before a user wears a mandatory respirator on the job, and must be assessed at least annually. In addition, fit tests should be performed:

Whenever a different size, style, model or make of respirator is used.

When any facial changes occur that could affect fit, such as significant weight fluctuation or dental work.

A good fit means the respirator will seal to your skin. A respirator can only work when air passes through the filter. Air will take the path of least resistance, so if the seal isn’t there, the air will go around rather than through the respirator – and therefore lessen the protection.

Safety glasses, hearing protection, face shields, hard hats and coveralls can all vie with a respirator for real estate on a person’s face, head or body. For instance, if a half face respirator doesn’t fit well (especially if it’s too large), it can overlap with glasses. The more that happens, the more fogging can potentially occur on glasses, and the more likely it is that they’ll interfere with the respirator’s seal.
