Athlete's foot is a fungal infection that will usually occur at the base of the foot, between the toes. Often times, this will be noticed after sweat has been produced in a tight volume, such as tight-fitting shoes or socks. Some symptoms to determine this infection are: rashes that cause itching, stinging, and burning; and blisters or ulcers.
