Answer:

Guard

Explanation:

The opening between guard (pores) cells is known as stomata. The stomata helps in diffusion of atmospheric CO2 into leaf's interior and also involved in loss of water by plant leaves through transpiration. The opening and closing of stomata is controlled by guard cells.

Guard cells control the opening and closing of stomata by becoming turgid or flaccid because of potassium ions. The water potential decreases by increasing the solute concentration and water always flow from higher potential to lower potential. Remember maximum water potential is zero.

When potassium ions concentration increases inside the guard cells, water follow the potassium ions and guard cells become turgid which cause the opening of stomata. On the other side when the potassium ions concentration decreases inside the guard cells the water leaves the guard cells and guard cells become flaccid causing closing of stomata.

Arrange the following list of eukaryotic gene elements in the order they would appear in the genome and in the direction travele
Leni [432]

Answer:

The alignment of the elements in the following sequence will take place in the eukaryotic genome:

a. Promoter

b. Nucleotide to which methylated cap is added

c. 5 prime UTR

d. Initiation codon

e. Splice donor

f. Splice branch site

g. Splice acceptor

h. Stop codon

i. 3 prime UTR

j. Transcription terminator

k. Poly A addition site

After the process of splicing, the ultimate transcript will comprise the elements b, c, d, h, i. In eukaryotes, the RNA polymerase begins the process of transcription after it crosses the promoter region, and ceases at the transcription terminator. At the time of RNA processing, a 5 prime cap is supplemented to the transcript, splicing occurs, and a poly-A tail is supplemented. The 5 prime UTR and 3 prime UTR regions are found in the final transcript, that is, the mature RNA, however, are not translated.

Why is it so important to be ethical in conducting the scientific method process?
kari74 [83]

It is important to be ethical in conducting the scientific method so that:

1. You do not disrespect the equipment given. For example, in many dissections, such as frog dissections, frogs give their lives just for your education. You should not play around with the frogs, but rather respect the frog and do your work so that the purpose is served.

2. To ensure equipment and utensils are properly used.

3. You do not want to ruin the scientific process and have to start it all over again and pay extra money.
