The Jews turned against Solomon because they did not think he practiced religion correctly.

  • Solomon was blamed for the weakening and downfall his own empire and his critics objected to him because of polygamy and great wealth, he became decadent and indulged in many forms of idolatry that were contrary to religious laws.
  • For his devotion to idolatry, Solomon visits a prophet who foretells that after his death his kingdom will be divided into (Israel and Judea) and that his son,  will be atoned for his many sins. Solomon died after forty years of reign and was buried in Jerusalem.
