Answer: The value of x is 5, the length of HJ is 8 and the length of 4.

Explanation:

It is given that H is the midpoint of GE and J is the midpoint of FE.

According to midpoint theorem the line segment connecting the midpoint of two sides is parallel to the three side and its length is half of the third side.

Since JH is connecting the midpoints.

HJ=\frac{1}{2} (GF)

x+3=\frac{1}{2} (4x-4)

x+3=2x-2

x=5

The value of x is 5.

HJ=x+3=5+3=8

JE=x-1=5-1=4

Therefore HJ=8 and JE=4.

HJ is a mid- segment,  GF=2HJ
so
4x-4 =2(x+3)
4x-4=2x+6
2x=10
x=5
HJ= x+3=5+3=8
JE=x-1=5-1=4

PLEASE HELP!!
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer:

C. 2.84%

Step-by-step explanation:

We are trying to figure out how much money will be made from the interest each year in percentage form so to set up the problem we need to first find the earnings from this year: 2,056.72 - 2,000 = 56.72

Then we will put 2,000 below that because that was the original full account deposit used to make the interest.  100 automatically goes on the other side because it is the full value of the percentage. Then solve the equation.

56.72       X

--------- = -------

2,000     100

To solve for X start by multiplying the diagonal numbers, in this case 56.72 and 100. Then divide by the remaining number, 2,000.

I hope this helps a little :)

1. Emilo spent 1.45 on 8 apples. What was the cost of one apple? Round to the nearest cent if necessary.
lana [24]

Answer:

1. 18 cent per apple

2. 84

3.$9.10

4. 460 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

1. divide 1.45 by 8 to get price per apple

1.45/8=0.18

2. convert 70% into a decimal

70%=.70

multiply by amount

120(.70)=84

3. convert 20% into a decimal

20%=.20

multiply by amount

45.50(.20)=9.10

4. 1 meter = 100 cm therefore 4.6 meters = 460 cm

Baxter is thinking about buying a car. The table below shows the projected value of two different cars for three years.
saw5 [17]

Car 1: It is an exponential function that is given as P = 18,500 (0.9595)ⁿ and the price after 10 years is $12,235.5.

Car 2: It is a linear function that is given as 2000x + 3y = 55500 and the price after 10 years is $11,833.33.

And Yes, there is a significant difference.

<h3>What is a function?</h3>

A function is a statement, rule, or law that establishes the connection between two variables. In mathematics, functions are everywhere and are necessary for constructing physical connections.

Baxter is thinking about buying a car. The table below shows the projected value of two different cars for three years.

Car 1 (value in dollars)

Year 1: 18,500

Year 2: 17,390

Year 3: 16,346.60

Car 2 (value in dollars)

Year 1: 18,500

Year 2: 17,500

Year 3: 16,500

The exponential function describes car 1.

Then the function will be

\rm P = 18500\times (0.95995)^n

The linear function describes car 2.

\rm y \ - \ 18500 = \dfrac{-2000}{3}(x - 0)\\\\\\3y - 55500 = -2000x\\\\\\2000x +3y = 55500

Then the value of the car 1 after 10 years will be

\rm P = 18500\times (0.95995)^{10}\\\\\\P = \$ \ 12,235.5

Then the value of the car 2 after 10 years will be

\rm 2000 \times 10 +3y = 55500\\\\y =  \$ \ 11,833.33

Yes, there is a significant difference.
