What led to the destruction of the great friday mosque in jenné in the early nineteenth century?
Vlad [161]

(c)The new ruler Seku Amadu wanted to make it more modern mosques.

Seku Amadu appears to have disapproved of the existing mosque and allowed it to fall into disrepair. This would have been the building that Caillié saw. Seku Amadu had also closed all the small neighbourhood mosques.Between 1834 and 1836, Seku Amadu built a new mosque to the east of the existing mosque on the site of the former palace. The new mosque was a large, low building lacking any towers or ornamentation.

What was an effect of having so many men away from home during World War II?
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

Generally, women had to take on the roles that usually belonged to men because the families needed money. They got jobs and went to work, and in the cases they didn't or couldn't the family would usually live in poverty. The women going to work resulted in "latchkey" kids. Sometimes, men wouldn't come home resulting in war widows.
