1. (7 , 0) and (11 , 3) → B and D

substitute each coordinate point into the left side of the equation and if equal to 21 then it is a solution.

( 7 , 0) → (3 × 7) - ( 4× 0)  = 21 - 0 = 21

(11 , 3) → (3 × 11 )  - ( 4 × 3) = 33 - 12 = 21

2. ( 2 , - 9 ) is a solution to the equation

substitute the coordinates into the equation and if equal to 13 the it is the solution.

(2 , - 9 ) → (5 × 2 ) - (-9)/3 = 10 + 9/3 = 10 + 3 = 13

(3 , - 6) → (5 × 3) - (- 6)/3 = 15 + 6/3 = 15 + 2 = 17

thus (2 , -9 ) is the solution

4. x- intercept = (- 45 , 0)

to find the x- intercept let y = 0

1/3 x + 0 = - 15

1/3x = - 15

multiply both sides by 3

x = 3 × - 15 = - 45

thus x -intercept = ( - 45 , 0)

Which of the following lists is in order from smallest to largest?
Stells [14]

Answer:

The following list is in order from smallest to largest is 17\%,0.175,\frac{2}{11},\frac{1}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numbers be \frac{2}{11},\frac{1}{5},17\%,0.175

To find the list in order from smallest to largest:

\frac{2}{11},\frac{1}{5},17\%,0.175

Rewritting the above numbers as below

0.18,0.5,\frac{17}{100},0.175

0.18,0.5,0.17,0.175

Now arranging the numbers in order from smallest to largest

0.17,0.175,0.18,0.5

\frac{17}{100},0.175,\frac{2}{11},\frac{1}{5}

The arranged numbers can be written as

17\%,0.175,\frac{2}{11},\frac{1}{5}

The following list is the order from smallest to largest is 17\%,0.175,\frac{2}{11},\frac{1}{5}

A physical therapist is scheduling appointment for the day. She has six workers comp cases six Medicare patients awaiting care.
Molodets [167]

Answer:

Pr(3worker's comp cases and 4 Medicare patients) = 0.37879

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of worker’s comp cases = 6

Number of Medicare patients = 6

Total  number of people = 6 + 6 = 12

Total number of ways of selecting 7 people from 12 people = 12C7

Total number of ways of selecting 7 people from 12 people = \frac{12!}{(12-7)!7!}

Total number of ways of selecting 7 people from 12 people = 792 ways

Number of ways of selecting 3 worker's comp cases = 6C3

Number of ways of selecting 3 worker's comp cases =  \frac{6!}{(6-3)!3!}

Number of ways of selecting 3 worker's comp cases = 20 ways

Number of ways of selecting 4 Medicare patients= 6C4

Number of ways of selecting 4 Medicare patients =  \frac{6!}{(6-4)!4!}

Number of ways of selecting 4 Medicare patients = 15 ways

Pr(3worker's comp cases and 4 Medicare patients) = (15*20)/792

Pr(3worker's comp cases and 4 Medicare patients) = 300/792

Pr(3worker's comp cases and 4 Medicare patients) = 0.37879

f(x) = x + 1/x

f(1) = 1 + 1/1

f(1) = 1 + 1

f(1) = 2

Answer: 2

Problem 2

(f o f)(1) = f( f(1) )

(f o f)(1) = f( 2 )

(f o f)(1) = 2 + 1/2

(f o f)(1) = 4/2 + 1/2

(f o f)(1) = 5/2

Answer:  5/2

============================================

Problem 3

(f o f o f)(1) = f(  f(f(1)) )

(f o f o f)(1) = f(  (f o f)(1) )

(f o f o f)(1) = f(  5/2 )

(f o f o f)(1) = 5/2 + 1/(5/2)

(f o f o f)(1) = 5/2 + 2/5

(f o f o f)(1) = 25/10 + 4/10

(f o f o f)(1) = 29/10

Answer: 29/10

============================================

Problem 4

(f o f o f o f)(1) = f(   f(f(f(1))   )

(f o f o f o f)(1) = f(   (f o f o f)(1)    )

(f o f o f o f)(1) = f(   29/10   )

(f o f o f o f)(1) = 29/10 + 1/(29/10)

(f o f o f o f)(1) = 29/10 + 10/29

(f o f o f o f)(1) = 841/290 + 100/290

(f o f o f o f)(1) = 941/290

Answer: 941/290

============================================

Problem 5

(f o f o f o f o f)(1) = f(   f(f(f(f(1))))   )

(f o f o f o f o f)(1) = f(   (f o f o f o f)(1)  )

(f o f o f o f o f)(1) = f(   941/290  )

(f o f o f o f o f)(1) = 941/290 + 1/(941/290)

(f o f o f o f o f)(1) = 941/290 + 290/941

(f o f o f o f o f)(1) = 885481/272890 + 84100/272890

(f o f o f o f o f)(1) = 969581/272890

Answer: 969581/272890
