The High Museum of Art, established in Atlanta, is a foremost art museum in the Southeastern United States. Found on Peachtree Street in Midtown, the city's arts district, the High is a state of the Woodruff Arts Center. The museum was established in 1905 as the Atlanta Art Association. In 1926, the High family, for whom the museum is called, granted their family home on Peachtree Street to house the group following a set of shows comprising the Grand Central Art Galleries assembled by Atlanta collector J. J. Haverty.
It was in Northern Africa that groups had the best opportunities to trade by sea, since this is the area that meets the Mediterranean Sea, which was a major source of trade between Europe, Asia, and Africa.
