Seth Low, Governor of Brooklyn, showed this address at the Brooklyn Bridge Opening Ceremonies.  Edna dean proctor wrote a poem about Brooklyn .

The Brooklyn Bridge is a New York City composite cable/suspension bridge. This links Manhattan and Brooklyn neighbourhoods across the East River.  

The Brooklyn Bridge was constructed in 1883, and was a convenient way to reach Brooklyn through Manhattan. John Augustus Roebling, who died in service as a result of an accident, constructed the bridge. The "Opening Ceremony Statement of the Brooklyn Bridge" was given by Governor Seth Low on 24 May 1883.

Edna Dean Proctor, the American poet, was born in NH in 1827. Her poetry frequently describes sites on the east coast of the US. It was released in Proctor's 1890 poem series, "The Brooklyn Bridge."
