Calculator definitely helps. If you use a regular ti-30 calculator or something, you can hit 2nd -> DRG and select SCI for scientific notation. Then I like to do 2nd EE (it's above the 7 key) which means * 10^X

so I get

(1* 10^-4) *(4*10^4) = 4

so 4 kg
