The mRNA is read sequentially in groups of three successive bases (or codons), each identifying a precise amino acid, the sequence of codons on the mRNA defining the succession of amino acids in the protein.

The four examples:

AAA: codes for lysine

GGG: codes for glycine

AUC: codes for methionine (the start codon).

UAG: stop codon (one of them).

Arrangement of nucleotides or their nitrogen base is connected with the synthesis of proteins by influencing the incorporation of amino acid in them. The relationship between the sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide and nucleotide sequence of DNA or mRNA is genetic code. According to  hypothesis of George Gamow only triplet code( consisting of three adjacent base for one amino acid) is operative. Some of its examples are

1) UUC- Phenylalanine

2) GUC- Valine

3) CUU- Leucine

4) UCU- Serine

Remember that for one amino acid there are more than one codon.
