why did the battle of lexington and concord take place? who was involved? what were the results? why was the battle important?
anygoal [31]

Answer:

In April 1775, the "shots heard around the world" were fired at Lexington and Concord. The shots were the result of colonial tension toward the acts passed by the British government. The colonial militia was victorious at Lexington and Concord. Delegates to the Second Continental Congress assembled in Philadelphia three weeks after the battles at Lexington and Concord. The Congress selected John Hancock as its president. Hancock was one of the richest colonists. He used his wealth to fund the Sons of Liberty in his home state of Massachusetts. The Congress also selected George Washington as the commander of the Continental Army. In an attempt to avoid a full-scale war, the Congress sent King George the Olive Branch Petition. In it, the colonists asked the King to protect their rights and told the King that they wanted peace. King George rejected their petition and began preparing for war.

What role did nationalism play in the outbreak of World War I?
Drupady [299]
Answer;
Nationalism convinced the people of Europe that their own nation could take on any military threat. This was a role nationalism played in the outbreak of world War I.

Explanation;
Nationalism reached a fevered pitch in Europe prior to the first World War. As a political tool, it was the belief that European technological, cultural, economic and military superiority was the cause for the subjugation of more backward economies and cultures.
The pan-Slavic nationalism inspired the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo in June 1914, an event that led directly to the outbreak of World War I.

Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answers with Explanations:

1. What are two adjectives that describe the song, The Hunters of Kentucky?

The song was used by General Andrew Jackson in his campaigns for the presidential position.

The <u>two adjectives</u> that would describe the song, "The Hunters of Kentucky," are <em>"bold"</em> and <em>"truthful."</em> It shows the courage of the <em>Kentucky boys</em> and how they are willing to fight for the people in the cities.

2. Also, what story does the song tell?

The song tells about the story of the <em>victory of the Kentuckians</em> during the "Battle of the New Orleans." The war occurred between the British and the Americans.

Under General Andrew Jackson, the Americans won the war. The song tells about <u>how the Americans won against the well-trained troops of Britain.</u> <em>"Kentucky rifles"</em> here refers to<u> Jackson's artillery</u> which was actually significant in winning the war because they were used by the <em>sharpshooters.</em>
