All cells have cell membranes, and the membranes are flexible. So animal cells can have various shapes, but plant cells only have the shapes of their cell walls. That's nice for plants, because it gives them the ability to grow up and out, where they can get lots of sunlight for making their food.

Plant cells need support and structure while most animals already get this support from their bones. ( However, not all animals have a bone structure)

densk [106]

Answer: Phagocyte receptors that detect PAMPs

Explanation:

TLRs or Toll-like receptors, are a family of proteins that are part of the innate immune system. TLRs are transmembranous and recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs), which are groups of chemical characteristics common to certain types of pathogens. Patterns detected by TLRs include lipopolysaccharide, a compound found on the surfaces of Gram-negative bacteria, and double-stranded RNA, which is an integral part of the life cycles of many viruses. These PAMPs are generally important for the survival of the pathogen, so they are well preserved. <u>Activation of these receptors induces inflammatory responses in leukocytes of myeloid lineage, signaling via NF-κB, which is a transcription factor that activates pro-inflammatory genes</u>. Activated TLRs also increase the production of co-stimulatory molecules such as CD80, CD86 and CD40. These proteins, expressed on the surface of antigen-presenting cells, are necessary for the activation of T-lymphocytes by dentritic cells and macrophages already showing antigens in their MHC type II molecules (Major Histocompatibility Complex, they participate in the presentation of antigens to T lymphocytes)

<u>In addition, TLR-mediated signaling on antigen-presenting cells (APCs) plays an important role in linking the innate and adaptive immune responses</u>.

3 lines are shown. A line with points T, R, W intersects a line with points V, R, S at point R. A line extends from point R to p
ira [324]

Answer:

C. 25°

Explanation:

Prepare a sketch such that the first line with points VRS intersect the line with points TRW at R where ∠WRS and ∠VRT are vertical angles.

Because line TW intersect line SV at R, then ∠WRV and ∠SRT are vertical angles.

The sum of ∠SRT and ∠VRT =180°

Thus (25x +30)°+(5x)° =180°

         25x +30° +5x =180°

          30x= 180°-30°

          30 x = 150°

           x= 150/30

            x= 5°

∠SRT = 25x+30 = 25*5 +30 =155°

∠WRS= 180°-155°=25°

The correct answer is "<span>press firmly against the wound with a sterile dressing".

Pressing firmly against a bleeding wound, may counter the severe bleeding and may also stop the bleeding, since the pressure that causes blood to gush out, is given a counter pressure to stop. Using sterile dressing while doing this to an open wound may also prevent infection.</span>

Significance of secondary tissues in plants
IRINA_888 [86]

Answer: Secondary growth is the outward growth of the plant, making it thicker and wider. Secondary growth is important to woody plants because they grow much taller than other plants and need more support in their stems and roots. Lateral trimester are the dividing cells in secondary growth, and produce secondary tissues.
