We are talking about the Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962, during the Cold War years that confronted the United States and the Soviet Union. When US Presiden Jhon F. Kennedy knew that USSR cargo ships were carrying missiles to the island of Cuba, he ordered an embargo on October 22. American ships blocked the navigation of USSR ships to prevent the delivery of more missiles.
